- When do we schedule our tasting?
- Your Event Specialist will contact you approximately 3-6 months prior to your reception to determine a date for your tasting. Our Executive Chef, Randy Bussy, will do your tasting Wednesday - Friday at 11am or 1pm. We will send a list of dates that Chef Randy has available for your tasting. We will also send you a planning document for you to complete prior to your tasting. This document outlines many of the details that we will go over at your tasting.
- How long does the tasting usually take?
- At your tasting, we will spend approximately one to two hours going step-by-step through the itinerary and details of your wedding day
- How long does the aisle runner need to be?
- For the Grand Hall, the runner should be around 125 feet. If you cannot find a runner that long, a 100 foot works too. For the Illinois Street Ballroom, 50 feet is the correct length.
- Can we give our guests a choice of plated meal? How many choices can we give them?
- You can give your guests a choice of two different meals along with a vegetarian option and a kids meal option. We will go over this in more detail at your tasting.
- How many guests can you seat at each table?
- You can seat up to 10 guests per table. We have 5ft. round guest tables here at the Crowne Plaza.
- How many cocktail tables are in the foyer and what size are they?
- In the Grand Hall, we typically set out 6 cocktail tables and in the Illinois Street Ballroom, we typically set out 4. All of our cocktail tables are 3ft. in diameter.
- Do you have restrictions on centerpieces and candles?
- We do not have many restrictions on centerpieces. No loose glitter, confetti or balloons are allowed in the ballrooms. All candles must be enclosed (or surrounded) by glass. We provide a mirror tile and 3 votive candles per table.
- Do you provide uplights for the ballrooms?
- Uplighting can be rented from Markey's Audio Visual, our in-house AV company.
- How big is the dance floor?
- In the Illinois Street Ballroom, the dance floor is 16' x 20'. In the Grand Hall, the dance floor is custom built to fit the space between your tables so there is not a set size for the dance floor in the Grand Hall.
